What does the name Tía Sandy mean?
In Spanish, tía means aunt. For years everyone has referred to Sandy as tía, or aunt, and the name stuck. When opening a business it felt right to give it a name that welcomed everyone as family.
Are your empanadas baked or fried?
Tía Sandy bakes her empanadas. Special orders can be accommodated with 24-hour notice.
What type of oil do you use?
Tía Sandy uses organic sunflower oil.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Tía Sandy’s Tortilla española and flan are gluten-free. She is working on gluten-free dough for the empanadas. Stay tuned!
Do your products contain nuts?
Tía Sandy’s kitchen is nut-free.
Do your products contain dairy?
Tía Sandy’s flan contains condensed milk. While it is stored and prepared separately from all other dishes, and the kitchen is sanitized after prep, please note that the kitchen is not dairy-free.
Do you offer a military, first-responder or local discount?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount with ID.
Where do you source ingredients?
Tía Sandy strives to support local businesses and farms, and sources as many ingredients as possible from our Eureka Springs and nearby farmer neighbors.
May I buy frozen empanadas and cook them later?
Absolutely! We’re happy to freeze them for you and to provide printed instructions for baking, frying and air-frying when you pick up your order.

Do you give back to the community?
In addition to sourcing ingredients locally, Tía Sandy is committed to reducing food waste. Any food that is not purchased within 24 hours is donated to the local food pantry.
